Battering the books

OK, so the papers I painted yesterday I tied them together with string.

They are looking good already!
Tea bath.
Dunked for an hour one side....,
Then flipped,

and dunked again, for another hour.
Drained in the sink.
And hung to dry in the sunshine on the studio gate.

Into a very warm transept for further drying.

Onto the next project, nice paper, cut with a knife.

Adding stuff that will rust.

Budddles
Salt, vinegar and tea
Yummy.
See you soon, x

Image transfer

OK, so my pages from last time are painted and with newspaper print added, now I wish to add some image transfer.
I gathered up some old photos, which have been photocopied. The little girl in the bottom left is my great aunt, Eunice, she is my studio muse. She died just a short time after having this photograph taken of Meningitis in 1923
I do not know who these people are, but I love the pictures.
Matt gel medium.
Paint the gel medium over the front of the picture.

Lie it face down onto the paper.
Make sure it is flat and well dried.
Now spray with water.
And rub off the paper.

A different picture, same lady.

Decorative Paper Making

These are great A4 and A5 plain paper sketch books that I get from Boyes. Inexpensive and very good,  with a G.S.M.of 190.
Remove staples and covers.
And apply paint.
Non stick mat and a brayer.

Applying, white gesso.
And black Gesso.
Rubber stamps.

Next step is to add news print. After.....,
drying painted paper.

See you soon, xxxx
