I am sort of back....!

Wow the past two weeks have been an experience that is for sure. Two unbelievable colds, resulting in an abscess in my mouth, I thought my face was going to explode. Anyway I will not go into any more gory  details, but I must say a huge thank you for all the kind words and well wishes, it really made a difference to me. You are such a lovely crowd. x.  I am a little behind on life book but I am not worried, will soon catch up on that, at the weekend I think.

On the second week of feeling like death warmed up I needed a distraction from the pain in my face, but couldn't settle to paint so I started stitching theses little panels.

Little panels
This is a technique taught by Teesha Moore, check her out on u tube, she is a very talented lady. These pillows are very easy to make and embellish, with buttons and beads, then you join them all together to create a journal cover and other things. Excellent occupational therapy. The first few I did following Teesha instructions then I changed things a little for my own way of doing things.

The way I make the panels is to cut two piece of contrasting fabric to the sizes you require, remembering a small seem allowance  then add wadding in the middle, smaller than the fabric. The right side of the fabrics should be visible. Machine embroider a pattern working from the middle of the fabric outwards.  Fold over the edges which ever way you require then over sew to seal the panels. Then embellish to your hearts content.  So far I have made my panels into journals, but I feels a bag is on it's way! I am going to have to  leave it here for today,

This was the first journal cover.
This is the second, with a small hole which I intend to place netting.
Third, not made into a journal yet.
Forth, stitched, but now needs embellishing.
....and Queeny, couldn't resist.

love and best wishes to you all, xxx

Hello Gorgeous People

Here we are half way through the first month of 2013 and what a fun month it is turning out to be. Snow, what a delight,
The walk down to the studio, or Rabbit Hole as we like to call it.
You can not see my studio from this picture, but trust me it is there, beyond the hedge and gate. A place of magic and delight. I will try and find you some pictures of the interior.

There you go, main room.
Enough of this onto some work, I have finished Wonderful world of whimsy 2. Last project was to draw and paint some animals.
No. 1
No.2 Cat Girl
No.3
No.4
No.6
Not something I would normally paint, but very interesting to do.

At the weekend I decided it was time to do some more faces so I did a painting,
Sister.
Then of course we get to Life Book 2013. I am having so much fun on this journey, long may it continue.

Week three
Detail of the above.
Well my lovely's I am leaving it here now as I am full of cold, and need to go and snuggle up under a blanket! Love to you all, Jo. xx

Getting back to normal, whatever normal is!

Hello you gorgeous people, how has the first week of 2013 been for you? Excellent I hope. The year started with great excitement for me as I started Life Book 2013. I can not tell you enough how much I love everything about this course...., I am having so much fun and it's only the ninth of January! I will be showing you what I have done on Life Book in a moment, but first I wish to share with you work I have done on one of Tamara's other classes, Wonderful World of Whimseys Two. Truth be told I haven't finished it to my satisfaction yet, I still need to do, a cat girl, pig, rabbit and an elephant. All of which I hope to do this week, now I have got the dreaded accounts done and out of the way. Clever me!.

No.1 Not that pleased with this, but it's a start.
No.2 Better. I think they would look better if I finished them!
No.3 Much better.
No.4
No.5
No.6 Draw a boy.
No.7 Last to date.
Great fun to do and I learned allot. OK, now onto Life Book 2013. First we did a warm up, and painted our Fairy Art mother. She is here to provide artist comfort in the year ahead.

My Fairy Art Mummy!
I love my Art Mummy so much, I had to make her into a Doll.
I can cuddle this one.
Then we were asked to create a picture about our journey into 2013.
This is Little Jo, so excited about the journey ahead.
Next was Mondays lesson about True intentions, here is my offering,
I can honestly state that I intend to do lots more art this year!
That is your lot for this week, I recommend you check out Tam's site. Hugs and Kisses, Jo xxxx

The First of January 2013

Happy New Year # Happy New Year #

I hope everyone had a splendid evening and you are not feeling too worse for wear today. As of Noon today I will be starting Tamara Laporte's Life Book 2013 and I am so excited! As a limber up to this class I have just completed Tam's Fabulous Faces class on line and I had the best of times. Not every picture I did came out as I would have liked, but I believe it is important to enjoy and celebrate the journey  not run to the finish line. Therefore these first drawings are just stepping stones on what I hope will be a very long trip.

First picture.
Number two.
Three.
Four.
Five
Six.
Last, but not least number six.
I am now in the process of binding these pictures in a book, hence the strips at the left hand side with the holes in it. This was a six week course which I did in two full days, so I may not have given it the attention it deserved  but I just had to get on with it and get it done! For more information on Tamara's classes there is a link button at the top of this blog, willowing.org.....

Next I will be doing Tam's on line Class of Wonderful Whimsy 's Two, and as ever I will show you the results.

I will be reverting back to blogging once per week now on a Wednesday, so the next post will be,on the ninth of January. Have a great week you lovely people.
